EDDY and the DIRTY BOYS
It started with two old friends, a couple guitars, and, true to form, a couple
cases of Heineken.
In the darker days of lockdown, longtime pals Jay Emmons and Mike
“Monty” Montgomery sat down to write something simple - no overthinking,
no rules. What came out wasn’t just a song, it was the DNA of Eddy and
the Dirty Boys: loud, loose, and unapologetically fun. Just like that, the
band was born.
Blurring the line between country grit and rock and roll swagger, Eddy and
the Dirty Boys channel the spirit of The Faces, The Rolling Stones, and
Jimmy Buffett on a bender. Their songs are built for sticky bar floors,
half-spilled drinks, and full-throated singalongs.
Their live show hits like a shot of whiskey - loud, fast, and right in the chest
- driven by Emmons’ unmistakable growl, Montgomery’s sharp leads, and a
stacked lineup: Steve Kirstein (Local Pressure, The Glorious Sons) on
rhythm guitar, Adam Paquette (The Glorious Sons) on drums, Claude
Northey (Boston Levi) on bass, Josh Hewson (The Glorious Sons) on keys
and Martina Lake (Lake Porter) on backing vocals.
Fresh off a cross-Canada tour supporting The Trews, the band is carrying
that momentum straight into the release of their next single “God Ain’t
Ready” on May 7 and their debut full-length album, dropping June 11. It’s a
record that captures exactly what they’ve built - real songs, real stories, and
a band that sounds best turned all the way up.
God Ain’t Ready Song Description
God Ain’t Ready is a song about a man and his favourite cigar bar and he’s
having such a good time he refuses to leave at all costs. He misses a fancy
dinner with his wife and friends and chaos ensues. “God Ain’t Ready” was
written by Dirty Boy’s members Mike Montgomery and Martina Lake and is
based on true events after enduring a tumultuous night on the town with
lead singer Jay Emmons.
